Sonic in the Grass

I think it's about time I had another post about my hedgie, don't you? Today Sonic really needed a bath. I feel bad because it's actually been a while since he's been all clean. I don't feel that bad, however, because he absolutely detests baths. I'm serious. I've tried floating him on his back like you can supposedly do with hedgehogs. He almost made it, but he turned over too quickly in his effort to scramble out. Then he goes boneless. You know, like Shawn Spencer. I stuck him in the sink and he just stayed there. I picked him up and he didn't move at all. Not even a flinch. That's weird coming from him. He just kind of dangled there and cried (yes, cried) until I wrapped him up all cozy in a blanket. That he liked. I took  him outside so he could run around and dry off. He had fun with that, so I got my camera (don't worry, I didn't leave him unsupervised) and started taking pictures. And now he's inside sleeping. What a long day for him.

Motorbikes

My definition of "motorbike" includes scooters. Not the razor kind, the Vespa kind. Or Piaggio rather. My husband and I bought a Piaggio off Craigslist because we needed a second vehicle. Scooters are practical for short distances (the gas mileage is GREAT), and they are more inexpensive initially to purchase. Especially if you buy it used. Our brother-in-law (the dude that married my husband's sister) has an actual motorcycle. I took the time one day to photograph both because it was fun. Taking beautiful photos of mechanical objects is both a challenge and a lot of fun. You can judge the end result if you'd like, but don't be too mean. No one likes a meanie head.

Color Schemes

Lots of color schemes can be found on the internet these days, and I decided to try my hand at creating my own. I used my photos and pulled out a few colors to create a fun color scheme. It's kinda hard to explain, so I'll just show you. I'll spare you the long literary schpeel today.

Bugs

I didn't include bugs in the "animal" post because, quite frankly, they aren't animals. They are tiny monsters. Real life monsters. Now, mind you, not all monsters are scary. We learned that from Monsters Inc. The only bugs that are truly terrifying monsters are ones with stingers on their butts and cockroaches. This post documents the monsters I have found in recent years. One I even caught in the middle of preparing its prey for a tasty meal. Yum yum grub.

Photo Essays

I am sure you've heard that cliche statement "a picture is worth a thousand words." Photo essays take those thousand words and turn them into a story. You take consecutive pictures of a situation and combine them to tell a fun story. It's really not difficult, especially if you have experience with creating collages in Photoshop. Anything is possible!
