Minimalist

Minimalist photography is using the simplest composition possible. It's like minimalist interior design: use only what you need. No place here for fancy pantsy accessories and patterns, or anything really besides the object you want to photograph. The background will generally be neutral, typically black or white, and the subject itself will not be incredibly detailed. You get more freedom with the placement of the subject in the composition this way, and that keeps the photograph from being boring. Hopefully.
