Lomo

Lomo is an effect named for the camera Lomo LC-A. This camera characteristically produced photos with high saturation, blurring, vignetting, and others. One person describes it as using "all things usually considered bad in photography." That's the funny thing about photography though. Sometimes the characteristics we try to avoid end up becoming overly popular with a group of people. Take Instagram for example. No one wants all of their photos cropped in a square with a ton of noise and desaturation thrown into the mix. That is, until some smarty pants developed Instagram, and now everyone loves posting pictures of their food in square frames with a gritty resolution and funny colors. It's all about what most people demand I suppose.
