Long Exposures

Long exposures taken at night are definitely fun, but I like the visible details from long exposures taken in the sunlight. The tricky part is getting the shutter speed right. It is nearly impossible to take a long exposure in the bright sunshine. At least, with my camera it is. You can only close the aperture so far, and if it's open too far, too much light enters during the prolonged shutter opening. The picture is overexposed and there's too much white light to make out anything. I had to work with shadows and days that weren't as sunny to get these pictures, and even they are a tad overexposed. Well, most of them. Someday I will have experimented enough to find the proper combination. Until then, please enjoy these long exposures of daytime waters.
